Not always, but sometimes. And definitely not at the most <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ideal <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">times.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m a Comms Director with a background in nursing. In communications, I lack the formal education, previous work experience, and overall pedigree. From nursing, I know how to critically think, creatively problem solve, triage, advocate, and stick an IV in the hardest of patients. (I\u2019ll let you guess which ones Grace allows me to keep doing.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019ve moved from marketplace to ministry because God saw potential before I did. And thankfully, some people at Grace did too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the book of Exodus, God called Moses as is: a fleeing murderer with a speech impediment. In chapters three and four, Moses asks God multiple times, \u201cAre you sure you want <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">me<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?\u201d I really appreciate that Moses asked God more than once. (Like, thanks for being relatable, Moses. I think I\u2019ve asked God a million times in the face of self-doubt.) Moses was an unlikely hero \u2013 a reluctant leader. What potential did God see?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead of focusing on his level of expertise, apparent criminal record, and whether Moses\u2019 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cs\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sounded like <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cth\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 God meets Moses in these moments. He comes patiently and intimately, revealing His name: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you (Exodus 3:14). <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">God shows He is <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a distant or nameless deity. He\u2019s a good Father \u2013 strong, mighty, powerful, and eternal.
